Rolla Outdoor Collaborative School -ROCS The Rolla Outdoor Collaborative School is a preschool, homeschool and after-school program

Our mission is to provide a cooperative childcare environment where children can develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically while immersed in nature. We strive to create an environment where caregivers can learn alongside their children. We work towards building a community with a goal of encouraging resilience, fostering independence, instilling a sense of wonder, and creating a new generation of nature stewards.

60 kids participated in Rolla Outdoor Collaborative School -ROCS's Nature at Night Summer program, a series of five programs lead by our staff in our local Audubon Trails Nature Center. They explore astronomy, nocturnal insects, bioluminescence and other nocturnal adaptations. The programs are free and open to the public. The kids enjoy exploring in the dark, searching for organisms that fluoresce under UV light and watching the fireflies!

There is an evening yoga class this Thursday, October 15 at 5:30 PM in the pavilion at the Audubon Trails Nature Center. The class is a gentle flow for beginners and requires no previous experience. Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day 🍂

Today we acknowledge the Indigenous people, plants, and animals of this land. We pay our respects and honor their ancient wisdom and the interconnection to which we all belong.

We are grateful for the generations who stewarded this land before us, and we’re committed to instilling that same respect and gratitude in the next generation.
