Thanks for coming to celebrate Walk to School Day with us! I didn’t get many pictures of kids that I know are post-able…So here are a few! Thank you Rolesville Police Department for sending a few officers to hang out with the kid!

In honor of National Walk/Bike to School Day tomorrow (Oct 7), we will be out on the track at 8:15 AM… walking to some music, and possibly walking with our local police and fire department.  (No laps tracked tomorrow.). Hope to see you there!

Last week, we wrapped up Walking Club for the year! Thank you to all the kids for putting in the effort and burning up some energy before school! The benefits of exercise before school are endless! And thank you to the volunteers who made it possible for the PTA to provide this activity for the kids!

This was the most active group we have ever had in my 15 years here! We had 160 kids participate … and half of them had at least 50 laps! We ended up with 27 kids getting 100 or more laps…and 2 kids getting over 200!! Colton ended up smashing the 10 year old record with 276 laps! Here are a couple pictures to wrap up the year of the 100 lap club (plus Asher, Owen and Sydney, who are not pictured, sorry!) as well as our Two 200 lap kids!

Good luck next year to the fifth graders … we will miss them! Some of these kids, I have been seeing out there for 6 years!  Hopefully we will see the rest of you in the fall! Enjoy your summer! Stay active! Keep an eye out for the card, ribbon, and a healthy reward coming home in Tuesday folders!

12 more kids joined the 100 Lap Club today!!!! And James reach 200 laps!! Awesome job James!! These kids really work hard out there! Congratulations to Eli, Kinsley, Callahan, Elikya, Zakai, Henry, Ben, Claire, Colby, Leo, Makinleigh, and Sydney! (Stay tuned for our final post of the year!)

Braylon Lesine hit 100 laps last week and joined the 100 lap club! Great job!! We have the potential for quite a few more kids to get there on our last day tomorrow! Remember, we are starting early…at 8:05 am! See you then!!

For or LAST Walking Club on Friday, May 15, We will start earlier at 8:05 AM! Then at 8:35 AM, we will have a quick get together to recognize those kids who have achieved 100 laps and get a group photo! We hope you can join us and thank you for another great year at Walking Club! See you Friday!!
