☀️ Meet the Family Behind Miss Dawn’s Daycare & Preschool ☀️
Hi friends! We realized it’s been a while since we properly introduced ourselves.
We’re Dawn and Jake Warwick, proud parents to Peyton and Mikayla, and the family behind Miss Dawn’s Daycare & Preschool.
Our story began long before Miss Dawn’s opened its doors. I started working with children when I was just 16 years old, leading summer camps and youth programs for the City of Petaluma. Over the years, I grew into directing youth programs, teaching preschool, and pursuing a career in Fire and EMS. Before becoming a mom, I worked on the ambulance while continuing to serve local families through recreation programs. After our daughter was born in 2014, I transitioned into EMS dispatch and healthcare transfer coordination for local hospitals.
When it came time to find childcare for our own children, we searched everywhere but couldn’t find a program that felt like the loving, nurturing environment we envisioned. So, we took a leap of faith and created it ourselves.
In 2017, Miss Dawn’s Daycare & Preschool was born.
What started in a converted garage classroom—built by Jake with lots of hard work and love—quickly grew into something much bigger than we ever imagined. With the encouragement of our licensing analyst and support from our community, we grew through word of mouth, waiting lists, and families who believed in our vision.
Today, our mission remains the same: to provide a safe, cozy, loving place where children can learn, grow, explore, and feel truly known.
We believe childcare is more than supervision—it’s a partnership with families. We are honored to walk alongside parents during some of the most important years of their children’s lives.
We’re also passionate about supporting the next generation of educators and love partnering with students from Sonoma State University who are pursuing careers in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.
To every family, child, and staff member who has been part of this journey—thank you. Miss Dawn’s has always been about community, and we are so grateful to serve ours. 💛
