Every year, during February, we observe Black History Month, a month-long celebration of African American history, culture, and contributions. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the first Black History Week, now recognized as Black History Month.

We’ll be sharing various events happening on campus to honor Black History Month.

SSU is celebrating First-Generation College Week! To celebrate and recognize our first-generation Seawolves, there will be several events hosted between Monday, November 3rd, to Friday, November 7th.

This national celebration is in honor of the anniversary of the Higher Education Act of 1965, which is celebrated each year on November 8th.
