Sonoma State alumni - we’re looking for hosts for Take a Seawolf to Work, a collaborative program from the SSU Alumni Association and Career Center.

Open your workplace to a current SSU student for a one-day job shadowing experience and give them a behind-the-scenes look at your profession. Share your career journey, offer insight into your industry, and help a student explore what their future could look like.

Students and hosts are matched based on career interests, industry, location, and availability. No internship, job opportunity, or formal interview is expected - just a few hours of conversation, connection, and real-world career exploration.

Introducing Cheyenne Pimentel Perez, ‘24, one of our 2026 Alumni Faces of SSU. Cheyenne is a Social Worker and Public Speaker at TLC Child and Family Services, but her journey began right here at Sonoma State.

During her time at SSU, she was involved in the Intervarsity Club, where she built strong connections, participated in service projects, and helped lead campus events and outreach initiatives that fostered community and personal growth.

“SSU has given me the knowledge, skills, and confidence I need to make a difference in the lives of at-risk youth. It’s also connected me with mentors and peers who inspire me to keep growing and go after my goals.”

✨ Advice for students: “You are not alone—lean into support systems, stay persistent, and celebrate every milestone. Your story and your voice matter.”

Introducing Jason Damjanovic, ‘96, one of our 2026 Alumni Faces of SSU. Jason is a Kinesiology Professor at De Anza College, but his journey began right here at Sonoma State.

During his time at SSU, Jason was a member of the men’s basketball team, where he built lasting friendships and connections that continue to this day.

“I owe so much to Sonoma State. It’s where I grew as a person and met lifelong friends—including my wife—and where faculty and staff helped shape me into the professional I am today.”

✨ Advice for students: “Find what you’re passionate about and pursue it wholeheartedly. Surround yourself with positive, driven people, and never take ‘no’ for an answer.”

Introducing Tyler Osburg-Head, ‘12, one of our 2026 alumni Faces of SSU. Tyler is the Director of Brand and Communications at Martin Ray Vineyards & Winery, but his journey began right here at Sonoma State.

During his time at SSU, Tyler was involved in Residential Life, the Wine Sense Club, the Wine Business Institute as an ambassador, and TRiO, building strong connections and industry experience.

“Sonoma State profoundly shaped my life and career, providing the education and skills essential to my success in the wine industry.”

✨ Advice for students: “Don’t be afraid to ask for help—expanding your network will help you succeed in any role you pursue.”

Sonoma State University is proud to once again sponsor and participate in the Sonoma County Pride Parade as we celebrate the vibrant diversity that makes our community stronger.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, families, and allies are all invited to march with SSU in downtown Santa Rosa.
