October is National Principals Month!

Rogue River Jr./Sr. High School Celebrates a Week of Homecoming Pride and Community Spirit

ROGUE RIVER, Ore. - Rogue River Jr./Sr. High School wrapped up an exciting and spirited Homecoming Week today, bringing students, staff, families, and community members together to celebrate Chieftain pride.

The festivities began Wednesday evening with the annual Homecoming bonfire, where students gathered to showcase their school spirit and build excitement for the week’s culminating events.

Today’s activities kicked off with class hallway judging, as students proudly displayed the creative themes and decorations they had spent weeks preparing. This year’s hallway themes included:
Seniors: Moana
Juniors: The Great Outdoors
Sophomores: Rainforest
Freshmen: Ice Age

Throughout the morning, students and staff made final preparations for the highly anticipated Homecoming Parade, which traveled through town and gave community members an opportunity to join in the celebration.

The parade featured spirited students, decorated entries, and enthusiastic supporters lining the route, highlighting the strong connection between Rogue River schools and the broader community.

Homecoming Week also included Homecoming Court voting, assemblies, Homecoming merchandise and dance ticket sales, and Wednesday night’s bonfire. The celebration continues with this year’s Homecoming dance, featuring an Under the Sea theme.

The week’s festivities will conclude tonight under the lights at Chieftain Stadium, where the Rogue River Chieftains will face St. Mary’s in the Homecoming football game. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

“This week has been a wonderful celebration of school pride, student involvement, and community support,” said Superintendent Harrison. “Homecoming provides an opportunity for students to create lasting memories while bringing our community together around the traditions that make Rogue River special.”

Community members are encouraged to attend tonight’s game and help cheer on the Chieftains as they close out an unforgettable Homecoming Week.

Community Connections

Dear Rogue River Families,
We are thrilled to share some exciting news. The Rogue River School District has been awarded a highly competitive grant to offer a free Summer School program for our students. This is a big opportunity for our community, and we are proud to be able to provide this experience for students from incoming kindergarten through graduating seniors, including those who may need to recover credits.
We are moving quickly to finalize details and will open registration soon. For now, we encourage families to save the dates and keep an eye out for more information in the coming weeks.
Program Details (no cost to families):
Grades: Incoming kindergarten through 12th grade
Location: Rogue River Elementary School campus
Dates: July 27 through August 13
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 2:40 PM
Note: Kinder Jumpstart will be half days. More information to come soon.
Program Includes:
Hands-on enrichment activities
Daily literacy-focused learning
Breakfast, lunch, and snacks
Transportation
All school supplies and materials
We are incredibly excited to bring this opportunity to Rogue River students and cannot wait to welcome them for a summer of learning, connection, and fun!
