Leaving Little Rock tomorrow morning with the fullest heart. My school had our end of the year field trip at the zoo, I chaperoned prom, and I helped at graduation today. I met new coworkers and got to know others even better.
This school year, God slammed shut a door at a previous school (it was very obvious and needed) and opened another door at Arkansas Connections Academy wide open. This past school year, I’ve served high school students as their success coach.
Today at graduation, I got to hug the neck of a few of those students I’ve worked with, some of whom have gone through a TOUGH journey to get to graduation day. One of my students told me if it hadn’t been for me pushing her, she wouldn’t have made it to this day. She made me cry of course because each and every one of their stories matter and they’re so very important to me.
As a lot of you know, I have a passion for both working with students and teachers, and have done that in the work in my education business, through curriculum design projects, and through mentorship and coaching for the past 8 years. After earning my Masters in Ed Tech, I decided to start a year long program to earn my administrator certificate and began that this summer.
But also, I am stepping into something brand new where I get to serve teachers at ARCA. Next school year (drum roll please), I got promoted to Assistant Director of Student Success where I’ll work with the most incredible leadership team on the planet to serve all of our close to 6000 students in grades K-12 and work with the awesomest success coaches, who are truly the best.
