🧪 Big things are happening in the science lab at Jones Elementary.

Our 5th-grade students rolled up their sleeves for a hands-on experiment to discover the difference between physical and chemical changes.

By mixing everyday ingredients and watching carefully for unexpected color changes, temperature shifts, and fizzing bubbles, these young scientists learned that a chemical change actually creates something completely new! 👩‍🔬👨🏽‍🔬

What a special surprise for Jones Elementary School! 💙

Through its monthly Class Cash program, First Community Bank gives teachers the opportunity to apply for funding to support their classrooms and provide resources that benefit their students. This month’s winner is Jones Elementary teacher Ms. Sonia Ponce, who received a $250 check to support her classroom makeover and purchase new seating for her students.

We are grateful to First Community Bank for recognizing the hard work of our teachers and helping create a classroom where students can learn and thrive.

🍳 “I do not like them, Sam-I-am... or do I?!” 🥓

Our 1st graders just finished reading Green Eggs and Ham! To celebrate, all first-graders gathered to watch Mrs. Reckman whip up a fresh batch of green eggs before heading back to their classrooms for a taste test.

Afterward, our young authors wrote their opinion on whether they gave they gave green eggs and ham a thumbs up 👍 or thumbs down 👎. Check out some of their wonderful writing pieces in the photos! 📝✨

We are thrilled to officially announce that our school report card grade has jumped from a C to a B! 🐝✨

This huge milestone reflects the incredible dedication of our hard-working students, amazing teachers and staff, and supportive families. All the dedication inside the classroom, parent support at home, and hard work from our students made this achievement possible!

Thank you to our entire school community for believing in our journey and working together to reach new heights.
