Trilogy STEM Academy

First week of camp trilogy is already over! Our “summer camp” theme brought lots of camping knowledge, campfire stories, and even some solar powered s’mores! We’re so excited for a fun filled summer ☺️☀️

Middle school STEM students went on a field trip today to compete in the engineering machine design contest at Anoka Technical College. The 7th and 8th graders machine advanced to the finalist round! We’re so proud of our students for giving awesome presentations and working so hard on their machines these last two months!

Ms. Kate’s engineering class built popsicle stick skyscrapers for their structural engineering unit! They were tested on an earthquake simulator to see if they could withstand the seismic loading. Can you guess which ones didn’t fall over?

Teacher spotlight! ✨

Get to know our middle school teacher, Miss Langston! Some fun facts about her:
1. Miss Langston loves to spend her time on the North Shore of Lake Superior. She has been vacationing there since she was little.
2. She has a corgi named Winston that travels everywhere with her.
3. Miss Langston lived in Idaho for 5 years; her favorite place there is Island Park.

Today middle school STEM classes had guest speakers from join the class! The students got to learn all about hydraulic systems and mechanical engineering. Students raced against each other to pick up giant marshmallows using a hydraulic claw. Thank you Parker engineers!

Chess club starts back up today after school! Trilogy students come together to play and learn strategies from our chess master, Dr. Brand. Anyone is welcome after school in room Omega!
