Join us here at the library for "Bones in the White House," a fun program for the whole family that kids will love!

Did you know Thomas Jefferson was so interested in bones and fossils that he built a mastodon skeleton in the White House? Enjoy an entertaining evening with professional storytellers, get the whole story, and check out a fossil display!

As many of you know, we started a Free Little Food Pantry here at the library a while back, and we've been so pleased by the generosity of those who have donated, and who continue to do so. But an issue has arisen that needs to be addressed. We have had kids coming in who take things off the shelves and then take those items outside and destroy them. We've had smashed baby food jars, emptied Ramen noodle packages, peanut butter smeared on the trash can, and spilled infant formula, among other things. It's disheartening to see food that was meant to be used by someone who truly needs it, be wasted in this manner. Because of this, we are forced to implement a rule that only adults are allowed to take items from the food pantry, unless a parent calls ahead to tell us their child will be picking something up. We wanted this pantry to benefit the community without regulations attached, but it is unfair, both to donors and recipients, to have viable items destroyed by disrespectful kids. Thank you for your understanding.

The library will be closed tomorrow, Friday, June 19th in recognition of Juneteenth. We will reopen on Saturday.

It's almost time for our annual Summer Reading Program at the Florence Township Library! You can register your children beginning Monday, June 15. Then keep track of their reading and come back weekly for prizes!
