How To Write The College Essay That AI Cannot
In the age of artificial intelligence, more and more communication is crafted by sophisticated models–and it shows. Critical messages should be composed by a person for a person. Amy and Mike invited college essay specialist Barak Rosenbloom to discuss how to write the college essay that AI cannot.

What Does the Research Tell Us About Score Gains on the SAT and ACT?
Every year, parents ask us two important questions: “How much can my student realistically improve on the ACT or SAT?” and “Will a higher score actually make a difference in college admissions or scholarships?” The answers depend on the student, but research from ACT and the College Board provides valuable insight into what families can reasonably expect. And here's something worth considering: A relatively modest score increase could make a meaningful difference in a student's college opportunities—and potentially the cost of attending.

Beyond the Classroom: Why Getting Involved in High School Matters
Grades and test scores matter in the college admissions process—but they aren't the whole story. How students choose to spend their time outside the classroom can help colleges understand who they are, what interests them, how they contribute, and what they may bring to a college community. Just as importantly, getting involved during high school gives students opportunities to discover interests, develop confidence, build relationships, and learn skills they simply can't develop from a textbook.

Amy and Mike invited test prep professional Bobby Nicholson to unpack the regrettably common question, “Why didn’t my test score increase?”
