Northeast Narrow Gauge Railroad Society, Inc Ralston, PA and Rocky Ridge, MD The Frederick & Pennsylvania Line Railroad Museum, Inc. is a 501(c)(3), tax exempt, educational, charitable organization.

History - Education - Preservation 501c3 nonprofit (founded in 2015) with a focus on narrow gauge and industrial railroads but we’ll share and get involved in other cool stuff too! We are in the development & fundraising stage while building an online presence with history stories, images and videos. The organization can provide research, technical, engineering and regulation compliance assistance to other organizations.

We had a very successful weekend at Ralston and the Loyalsock Valley Antique Machinery Association summer reunion show. Raising funds, gaining half a dozen volunteers, and even doing a photo shoot with the 1910 steam tractor (more photos to come!)

We would like to thank everyone who came out to support us! We had people from not just locally but from as far away as Georgia, Canada, UK, and Missouri to visit the railroad and experience what Ralston has to offer.

We love to see the fire lit in a steam engine! We have both the Aultman Taylor pictured here and the Pleasant Valley Express on the grounds for the show this weekend. Come out and enjoy the show! Gates open daily at 8am - show runs through Sunday. Flea market vendors, food vendors, hit and miss engines, sawmill, shingle mill, mining exhibits, tractors, narrow gauge railroading, Doodlebugs, we've got it all!

GPS Address is 182 Holly Street, Trout Run, PA 17771, but the grounds are located in the town of Ralston - look for the signs as you get to the fire station on Rt 14.

A great thing to awake to in the morning!

The engine house now has the 2 large rolling doors installed, for the first time in many years our equipment is now fully protected from the elements (and there was torrential downpours earlier yet none got in) in a fully enclosed building.

We cannot thank enough Travis, Kenny, and Kevin along with the rest of the Loyalsock Valley Antique Machinery Association for completing this mega project in time for this weekend's show!

Come see NC&StL / Werner Lumber Co. Vulcan locomotive 701 and our other railroad equipment up close, inside our new facility, this weekend at the Loyalsock Valley Antique Machinery Association Inc. Annual Reunion and show.
The show opens Thursday; we'll be available Friday at 12 noon and Saturday and Sunday starting at 9am each day. The show has lots of displays of farm, mining, and electrical equipment, including a working sawmill, grinders, shellers, steam traction engines, a flea market, and lots of good food! Something for everyone!

Upgrades people!

Built by our Vice president Matt this new water tower inspired donation box is a massive upgrade to our prior one, its double layer design means the bottom can have some small displays and the upper part of the tower can be filled to help fund our restoration projects. In the future it will receive a small ladder and working chains so the spout could go up and down.

Gone but never to be forgotten.

Philadelphia & Reading 940 was the last survivor coach of her fleet ordered in 1890. She had provided many years of service to the Reading railroad and the Connecticut Trolley Museum but met the torch due to waning condition. However in Death she has provided to Delaware & Hudson coach 3 a opportunity to once again be a full car.

We will make a small display remembering 940 for her help, at the center is this original cladding with her final repaint's numbers and underneath original paint from her days on the Reading. It will be framed and given a protective cover to reduce further damage to the fragile paint.

Shown here is that very number she once carried from the commuter lines of Philadelphia, through coal country and on the road to Williamsport & Harrisburg. Followed by a career up and down the Hartford & Springfield's branch along side conn-co trolleys.

Grounded twice.

Delaware & Hudson Canal Co Coach 3, the oldest narrow gauge railcar in the Americas, has once again been lifted from her wheels and onto blocks.

As her hay wagon tires lost air she began to list to her damaged side. As such using cribbing and a bottle jack from the LVAMA she was leveled out to sitting 26 inches from the floor on blocks. Once she was up on the blocks her tires were deflated allowing her to rest fully on the blocks. This made even the inside floor sit level for the first time in our ownership. 

Now that she is grounded the hay trailer will be removed and 2 more cribs placed below her. This allows for teardown in the near future.

Also note the tarp is off. You will see very soon why...
