District Education Director spoke to our Rocky Mount club today.
Sherri Williams was born and raised in North Carolina and has lived all across the state throughout her life. Her studies at UNC Pembroke were in special education. There, she worked with a wide range of students—from those with physical and mental disabilities to those identified as gifted.
Williams moved to Rocky Mount in 1982 and has built a diverse career across several industries, including food service, banking, trucking and the relocation industry. In 2012, she began working in senior housing.
Williams has served as a property manager for both HUD (Housing and Urban Development) and LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs. Later, she transitioned into sales and marketing with an international company specializing in independent senior living.
Fourteen months into the COVID-19 pandemic, she joined Brookdale Senior Living in Rocky Mount as the sales & marketing/admitting director. Williams is also a co-founder of the Health Care Networking Group, a collaborative organization made up of professionals from skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, rehab centers, hospitals, hospice organizations, physician offices and other home care companies.
She is an active member of the local Women’s Professional Networking Group and the Red Oak Area Rotary Club, where she recently served as President for the 2025–2026 term. She is now Rotary's District Education Director. Williams is a Paul Harris Fellow and a graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI), where she has also completed training to become a facilitator.
