SET APART: THE HOLY BIBLE📖

In high school chapel today, Chris Schank, Spiritual Life Director & HS Bible Teacher, challenged our students to consider what it means to be truly set apart.

The Holy Bible is our guidebook to living a life that is different from the world around us. It is unlike any other book. It is the pure and flawless Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and given to guide, teach, and transform our lives. Scripture is 100% true, living, active, and powerful.

📖 “All Scripture is breathed out by God…” — 2 Timothy 3:16

Mr. Schank reminded us that as we read the Bible, the Bible reads us. It reveals who God is, exposes our hearts, and transforms our lives. God’s Word never returns empty—it accomplishes His purposes. (2 Peter 1:21; Proverbs 30:5; Hebrews 4:12; Isaiah 55:11)

As we continue our Patriot Discipleship Challenge this year, our hope is for God’s Word to be hidden in the heart of every student so that His truth will guide them—not just today, but for a lifetime, so they may understand what it truly means to be SET APART.❤️🤍💙

8/25/2026 – Faith Christian School Patriots' fall sports season is off to a great start with a busy Tuesday schedule!

FCS Girls Varsity Tennis opened the season with a solid 6-3 road victory over the John Paul II Catholic High School Saints (Greenville, NC). The team was breaking in three new doubles partners, and we did so by sweeping the doubles action, 3-0.

Savannah Denton, Nora Morningstar, and Ava Kelly each won both their singles and doubles matches. Kudos to Ava Kelly (7th grade), who played in her first Varsity Tennis match and earned two points for the Lady Patriots! Their next match is at home on Thursday, 8/27, at 4:00 p.m. against the same Saints team.

JV and Varsity Volleyball each picked up wins over Wilson Christian. Varsity won the first set, dropped the second, and then rallied for a strong finish to close out the win. Middle School, JV, and Varsity Volleyball will play Wayne Christian at home on Thursday at 4:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m., respectively.

Varsity Boys Soccer lost 2-1 to Wilson Christian in a hard-fought match on a hot day. We had several opportunities, but the ball just didn’t bounce our way.

We’d like to thank Wilson Christian for filling in the schedule on short notice after our previously scheduled opponent had a scheduling error.

FCS CROSS COUNTRY

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The Faith Christian School cross country team opened its season Monday with a gritty performance in scorching conditions on the course at Brian Multi Sports Complex, hosted by Wayne Christian School.

Ethan Carr set the tone for the Patriots, finishing fourth overall out of 50 boys runners with a time of 20:14.79 — the fastest time of his career, set in the very first meet of the season. Faith Christian coach Shawn Holland credited the personal record to the strong training base Carr built over the summer.

Behind Carr, the Patriots got solid efforts from Luke Roberts (26th, 26:58.27), Blake Bass (35th, 29:57.53), Zachary Rabe (42nd, 34:57.08) and Chance Pridgen (43rd, 35:06.53).

On the girls' side, Samantha Joyner led the way for Faith Christian, placing fourth overall out of 40 runners with a time of 25:49.6. She was followed by Sarah White (13th, 29:48.7), Lily Crocker (15th, 30:10.4), Sophia Keeney (16th, 30:33.0), Stella Schank (20th, 31:28.0), Regan Garrett (21st, 31:44.1) and Eleanor Conner (33rd, 38:41.6).

"It was a great start to the season, with several of our runners competing in their very first cross country race," Holland said. "This was a tough course to open on — there's no shade out there, and with temperatures hitting 86 degrees, it tested everyone. I'm proud of how hard this team fought through it, and it's a great sign of things to come this season."

The Patriots will look to build on Monday's performance as they continue their season in the coming weeks.
