BFMS FFA is off to a busy and exciting start to the school year! Here’s a quick look at what our chapter has been up to so far!

August 31 - First Chapter Meeting
We kicked off the year with our first FFA meeting, led by the FCHS FFA Officer Team! They kept things fun and engaging with an FFA-themed game of Family Feud.

September 17 - Virginia Cooperative Extension
Extension Agents Amber Wilson and Grace Neller joined us for our September meeting. They led our members in several team-building activities while teaching students about the role of Virginia Cooperative Extension and its importance to agriculture.

October 2 - Food for America
Two of our BFMS FFA officers represented our chapter by presenting at the Food for America program for fourth-grade students at FCHS. They helped introduce younger students to agriculture and its importance in our everyday lives.

October 6 - Virginia Tech Middle School Leadership Conference
Our BFMS FFA Officer Team attended the Virginia Tech Middle School Leadership Conference, where students participated in workshops and activities designed to strengthen their leadership skills. They’re excited to bring what they learned back to our chapter!

We’re proud of the opportunities our members have already had to grow as leaders, learn more about agriculture, and represent BFMS FFA in our community. We look forward to seeing what the rest of the year has in store!

We are so grateful to Grayson Altice for making our creek trail accessible for BFMS students! Thank you for giving back to your middle school so others can experience learning in the outdoors.

New signs are up at the Benjamin Franklin Middle School Accessible Trail! Grayson and his fellow scouts worked hard to create and improve this accessible trail as part of his Eagle Project, and it looks fantastic. We encourage locals to check out all their hard work. Trailhead is located off the northernmost parking lot at the West Hall
