State of Texas required learning! It’s a mindset, if you enter with a negative attitude you’ll receive nothing. If you enter with an open mind and an angle of everything you do is for the kids, you’ll receive so much more! I’m excited about the current and future opportunities Community ISD students are offered! Positive attitudes + open minds = successful student outcomes!

Good morning Community! I will be dropping by this week to pick up signs, if I forget you please let me know! If you want to keep the sign you can have it, but if you are going to throw it way I would like to recover it. Who knows I might use them again in 3 years..!!

Absolutely no way I could have done this on my own! Everything from teachers posting, friends sharing and a Community praying. We pulled it off! This campaigning season had lot's of ups and downs, lots of untrue statements and words taken out of context. I hope we can ALL come together, move forward and make this district better for our kids. Thanks to everyone that had a hand in this next chapter in my life.

I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Fleck and Mr. Dacey this week for a “get to know you” video interview. Lots of good impromptu questions that will truly give you a gauge of what I stand for. Did I answer everything perfectly? No but that’s what happens when you don’t use AI or Chat GPT to answer all your questions. I do not have all the answers because I’m just like you, a normal person trying to make a difference for our future.

I can undoubtedly say I have a lot or learning to do, but I’m willing to do it for our children. I don’t come with the mentality that this entire district needs to be broken down and dismantled because of a grudge. I will serve this district with humility and grace. However you vote this election cycle I hope you do it for the right reasons. I pray for this district’s path daily and however it travels with or without me, I know these Community ISD Braves can reach the heights they dream of! It’s our job as adults to get it right, vote Dowdy for place 4 this election cycle and I’ll make sure WE get it right!

Being in the running for the CISD School Board has been on my heart for many years. Some 10 years ago I thought the Board would be a really good way to give back to the district I came from. The “want” never left me, but it did get quiet for a long time. My life has changed drastically in the last 10 years from job position changes, children being born, grandparents passing on and the renewal and strengthening of my faith in the Lord.



Christ has a plan for each one of us and I know when wearing the armor of God there’s nothing I can’t conquer. Spending last weekend at the Heart Of A Child Conference in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma was an incredible experience. If I ask for continuous improvement of our students and staff I must accept this for myself as well. Continuing my education on how to raise our children in Christ is something I’m very passionate about. I often pray for the students and staff of this district for safety, patience and strength. I pray that I get to opportunity to serve our district in this way.
