Today was a great day of hands-on learning! Weโ€™ve spent the past week learning about the order of operations mathematicians follow, and today students got to put that learning into action. They solved a problem and then changed one thing to see if they could make the solution greater or smaller. Lots of thinking and some great math conversations today!

Our 5th graders had some exciting math challenges today!

๐Ÿ”น In honors math, students took on a challenge where they could change one digit and one operation in a numerical expression to find the greatest or least possible solution.

๐Ÿ”น In grade level math, students watched a NASCAR finish-line clip and practiced ordering decimals to the thousandths placeโ€”just like those super-close race times. I got so wrapped up enjoying their thoughtful conversations that I completely forgot to take pictures! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ“ธ

Both groups showed amazing critical thinking, teamwork, and creativity. ๐Ÿง โœจ We love seeing our students push their thinking and have fun with math! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ“š

Our 100 Club students celebrated today with a pizza party in the courtyard! ๐Ÿ•โ˜€๏ธ These students worked incredibly hard all year to complete 100 lessons on Imagine Math and earned every bit of this celebration. So proud of their dedication, perseverance, and growth this year! ๐Ÿ’™
