Our dear grantee, Asseneth Regis Vives, shares how her experience at the AIC 54th Annual Meeting (Joint with CAC-ACCR) was:
My first AIC was so rewarding. I am very grateful for the opportunity to present a poster of the work I am doing in my country as a contemporary art conservator. Learning about the work other colleagues are developing around the world and sharing experiences as well as meeting points of interests, and building future doors for networking was a one of a kind experience that encouraged me to continue with a more engaged passion for conservation and research . Thank you APOYOnline for making this dream possible!

It was a pleasure to carry out another APOYOnline intergenerational community outreach initiative: Manitos a la Obra!
During this multilingual workshop, children, youth, and adults participated in engaging hands-on and educational activities focused on cultural heritage preservation, learning how to care for books, photographs, family heirlooms, and other treasured objects that connect generations.
Throughout the event, families explored conservation and preservation concepts, learned about the main agents of deterioration that threaten cultural heritage, and interacted with tools, materials, and activities inspired by the work of conservation and preservation professionals. Participants also reflected on the impacts of climate change on cultural heritage and the importance of safeguarding our shared histories for future generations.
Each participant received a special educational kit designed to continue the learning experience at home, strengthening connections with their family and cultural heritage.
We thank all the children, caregivers, volunteers, and professionals who made this event such a meaningful experience of learning, discovery, and intergenerational connection. 🖤🤍❤️

👐🏽 MANITOS A LA OBRA is designed to engage Latino families, especially elementary and middle school students (grades 3-8) and their caregivers, in cultural heritage preservation and careers in conservation and preservation (encompassing STEAM disciplines: science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math) within the arts and humanities. 
With this two-hour, multilingual (English, Spanish, Portuguese) hands-on workshop, APOYOnline empowers intergenerational audiences to connect with and care for their cultural heritage and family treasures/heirlooms, significantly expanding its community outreach and local impact.
