Franklin Montessori School a warm and welcoming Montessori school in Rockville, Maryland, is seeking a dependable and nurturing Extended Day Classroom Assistant to work Monday through Friday from 2:00–6:00 PM with children ages 2–6. This part-time position is an essential part of our extended day program, supporting a calm, engaging, and respectful environment rooted in Montessori values dedicated to nurturing each child's natural love of learning within an inclusive and diverse community that fosters independence, confidence, and joy.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and engage with children during afternoon and end-of-day activities
• Support a peaceful, joyful classroom atmosphere aligned with Montessori principles
• Assist with snack time, indoor/outdoor play, and cleanup routines
• Communicate effectively and warmly with children, colleagues, and families
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and order in the classroom and playground areas

Qualifications:
• Experience working with young children (ages 2–6) in a school or childcare setting preferred
• Familiarity with or interest in Montessori education
• Must meet Maryland state licensing requirements for childcare (including fingerprinting/background check and 90-hour certification or willingness to obtain)
