Last week, Gesher wrapped up the Back-to-School Backpack supply collection in support of Identity, Inc.!🎒📚

236 items were collected! Thank you to Jennifer from Identity Youth MD for helping us put this drive together!

Throughout the summer, Gesher campers learned about different organizations such as Identity and how they help serve our community. Gesher volunteered and worked on mitzvah projects which developed leadership skills through a Jewish lens.

At the end of every summer, the entire Lessans Camp JCC staff comes together at our Heart of Gold Ceremony to recognize and celebrate the outstanding work of their team members!

Last week, Jeremy Silberglied was recognized with the R. Andrew Helgeson “Heart of Gold” Award, named in memory of R. Andrew Helgeson, an exemplary young man and beloved counselor at Camp JCC, who passed in 2005. Mia Flaherty and Ash Hyer were also recognized with the “Heart of Gold” Silver and Bronze Awards, respectively.

Lessans Camp JCC Adaptive Recreation Coordinator Tobi was awarded the Stacy Katz Olivera “Shaina Neshama” Award, which was created to honor the memory of Stacy, an adored former Lessans Camp JCC staff member who passed away in 2020.

One counselor from each unit was also awarded the Dugma Award for being a positive role model for their peers and campers. Congratulations to Ellyn Gibson, Ben Cope, Venus Ledesma, Talia Berl, Jenna Rosenblatt, Caden Mont, Jeremy Silberglied, Noyln Ziman, Eli Gale, and Micah Goldrich.
