Pepco WaterShed Sustainability Center WaterShed, the University of Maryland’s entry in the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 201

An interdisciplinary team of students from the University of Maryland is one of 20 teams that have earned the opportunity to compete in the upcoming Solar Decathlon 2011. This endeavor involves the collaboration of over 200 students from diverse disciplines across the University including architecture, engineering, environmental science and technology, plant sciences, landscape architecture, and o

Maryland’s solar-powered house, WaterShed, will be the culmination of an innovative learning program—combining team building, collaboration, experiential learning, age-old wisdom, and new technologies to equip tomorrow’s professionals, leaders, and decision makers with the knowledge to address one of the most critical issues of our time—dependence on fossil fuels.
