⛳️The SJAA hosted the 70th anniversary golf tournament at Worthington Manor. Largest amount of players in years. 84 golfers teed off at 9:40am on a beautiful June 8th. Last community service project for 2025-2026 school year. Students in all grades donated to the Gabriel project that assists moms and babies. 🙏 Congratulations, Fr. Paul Lee, on 43 years of priestly ministry!

Today we joyfully celebrate Fr. Paul Lee’s 43rd Anniversary of Presbyteral Ordination.

Ordained on May 28, 1983, by Cardinal James Hickey, Archbishop of Washington, Fr. Paul has given his life in faithful service to Christ and His Church with joy, generosity, humor, and a true shepherd’s heart.

From his early years as an altar server to his first parish assignment at St. Jude’s, and through decades of priestly ministry, Fr. Paul has touched countless lives, celebrating the sacraments, preaching the Word of God, forming the young in faith, accompanying families, and witnessing to the joy of the Gospel.

Thank you, Fr. Paul, for your priesthood, your friendship, your joyful spirit, and your faithful witness. Ad multos annos!

Hoy celebramos con alegría el 43.º aniversario de Ordenación Presbiteral del P. Paul Lee.

Ordenado el 28 de mayo de 1983 por el Cardenal James Hickey, Arzobispo de Washington, el P. Paul ha entregado su vida al servicio fiel de Cristo y de su Iglesia, con alegría, generosidad, buen humor y un verdadero corazón de pastor.

Desde sus primeros años como monaguillo hasta su primera asignación parroquial en St. Jude’s, y a lo largo de décadas de ministerio sacerdotal, el P. Paul ha tocado innumerables vidas: celebrando los sacramentos, formando a los jóvenes en la fe, acompañando a las familias y dando testimonio de la alegría del Evangelio.

We Welcome Our New Pastor!

The Shrine of St. Jude joyfully welcomes Fr. Pawel Sass, S.T.L., as our new Pastor. Born in Poland in 1977, Fr. Sass brings with him a rich background in pastoral ministry, liturgical studies, evangelization, missionary work, and international experience.

After graduating from high school, Fr. Sass pursued studies at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, where he earned master’s degrees in Theology and Journalism in 2002. He also received the Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française from the French Ministry of Education and worked as a radio reporter for Radio Plus Poznań. He speaks Polish, Russian, English, French, Spanish, and Italian.

Fr. Sass comes from a family of faith. He has three siblings. In 2003, Fr. Sass was sent to the Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Seminary in Washington, D.C. In 2009, he was ordained to the priesthood by Cardinal Donald Wuerl. Fr. Sass graduated from The Catholic University of America with a Licentiate in Sacred Theology, specializing in Liturgical Studies and Early Christian Liturgy.

Since his ordination, Fr. Sass has served the people of God in several parish communities, first as parochial vicar at St. Martin of Tours in Gaithersburg and Immaculate Heart of Mary in Lexington Park. He later served as pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace in Washington, D.C., and for the last six years as Pastor of Nativity Church in Washington, D.C.

Fr. Sass loves street evangelization and outreach to the wider community. He also serves as a member of the Seminary Formation Board, State Chaplain of the DC Knights of Columbus, and Moderator of the Sodality Union of the Archdiocese of Washington.

We look forward to receiving his priestly leadership, missionary zeal, and pastoral care as he begins his ministry among us at the Shrine of St. Jude.

El Santuario de San Judas recibe con alegría al P. Pawel Sass, S.T.L., como nuestro nuevo párroco. Nacido en Polonia en 1977, el P. Sass trae consigo una rica experiencia en ministerio pastoral, estudios litúrgicos, evangelización, trabajo misionero y experiencia internacional.
