Alumni Spotlight: Dakota Randazzo ’24

Just two years after earning her degrees in English and Spanish, Dakota Randazzo ’24 has taken her love of learning, travel, and connection to new heights…literally.

Dakota is now training full time in San Diego to become a commercial airline pilot, recently completing one of aviation’s biggest milestones: her first solo flight. As she shared, “Pretty much the second I held the yoke and assisted in lifting the plane into the air, I knew this was what I wanted to do.”

Her journey is a powerful reminder that career paths aren’t always linear, and that curiosity, courage, and determination can lead to extraordinary opportunities. Dakota approaches aviation with the same passion she once brought to studying languages, saying, “It feels like I’ve simply shifted from being a student of English and Spanish to a student of flying.”

We are so proud of Dakota’s drive, resilience, and willingness to embrace new challenges. She embodies the spirit of Molloy: bold, curious, and ready to soar.

Congratulations Lainey for being recognized at this year's Spirit of Molloy Awards by receiving the Truth-Seeker Award! 🏆Lainey Hufford, a 2025 graduate of the MOST Program, is known for her kindness, creativity, and dedication to helping others. Through her work as a camp counselor and preschool painting instructor, she encourages confidence, creativity, and self-expression in young children. Her compassion, positivity, and genuine care for others continue to leave a lasting impact on everyone she meets. 🦁

Congratulations Susanne for being recognized at this year's Spirit of Molloy Awards by receiving the Truth-Seeker Award! 🏆 Susanne Basile, Class of 2015, is a dedicated language educator whose passion for teaching has inspired students both inside and outside the classroom. Currently teaching German in the Garden City School District, she creates immersive cultural learning experiences that encourage curiosity and global understanding. In recognition of her impact and innovation in education, she was named one of Molloy’s 30 Under 30 honorees in 2022. 🦁

Congratulations S. Diane for being recognized at this year's Spirit of Molloy Awards by receiving the Reflection & Faith Award! 🏆Sister Diane Morgan, O.P., Class of 1973, has devoted her life to education, pastoral ministry, faith formation, and Dominican leadership. Throughout her decades of service, she has supported communities through moments of both celebration and hardship, including during the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy in Long Beach. Her continued connection with Molloy students reflects her lifelong commitment to faith, mentorship, and community.

Congratulations Christopher for being recognized at this year's Spirit of Molloy Awards by receiving the Reflection & Faith Award! 🏆Christopher McArdle, a 2025 graduate of the MOST Program, is recognized for his joyful spirit, strong faith, and dedication to service. During his time at Molloy, he participated in Campus Ministries, Best Buddies, and LEAD Club, deepening both his friendships and faith life. Through his continued involvement in his parish community, he shares kindness, positivity, and a strong sense of connection with others. 🦁
