Need a fire safety expert? Call Riverside!
Riverside School hosted an assembly with the RVC Fire Department to learn about Fire Safety. Students learned about the importance of having an escape plan, the different types of fire trucks (hint: there are three!), and how to find the best exit from a building.
Not only did the students learn these important tips, but they were able to watch the fire engine spray its hose outside! Awesome!

RVC schools are getting active!
The elementary schools kicked off the summer with field day! Students ran, competed in games, ate barbecue, danced to music, had ice cream, and even got to run through the water from a fire hose.
The events were great opportunities to release the kids’ energy, and a sign of a great summer to come!

Riverside is celebrating 100 years!
Riverside Elementary School celebrated 100 years by bringing back their Spring Carnival after a 6 year hiatus. Students, teachers, and community members danced the beautiful day away to the DJ’s beats. Families enjoyed playing carnival games, face painting, eating barbecue, cotton candy, and popcorn, (all with a refreshing lemonade!), and spray painting graffiti shirts as a souvenir to remember this momentous occasion.
Riverside thanks all of those who were involved in making this event a huge success, and looks forward to more carnivals in the years to come!!

Students from each of the schools combined to make teams and compete in kickball, steal the bacon, tug-of-war, running bases, capture the flag, sideline soccer, European team handball, race chase, and even crab soccer using a giant bouncy ball!
