As a teacher and tutor, I've created this packet of game boards, games ideas, cards, and play pieces, because they've helped my students learn their multiplication tables, division, and long division. The reason these methods have been effective is because it's easier to remember a story, a rhyme, the way the pictures fit the story, and physical movement. Each number is based on a character, who maintains certain traits and acts accordingly. This helps the student more quickly recall the answers. Since they are games based both on luck and strategy, all players, no matter how unequal in skills have an even playing field to make use of.
