Discovery Days of First Baptist Rockport Discovery Days is a Tuesday/Thursday preschool program for children ages 1/walking - 5 years. Our h We follow the Wee Learn curriculum.

We also use some additional resources to help us plan our activities. Curriculum and academics:
Our classrooms are set up in ‘learning centers’. Each area, or ‘center’, has one of the following emphases: Dramatic Play, Construction, Nature/Science, Music, Art, Prewriting, Books/Listening, Movement, or Manipulatives. The centers change daily to provide new learning experiences based on our theme and Bible story. Bible:
We believe in teaching preschoolers the fundamentals of who God is and how He affects their everyday lives. The bible stories we teach focus primarily on God’s creations and character, Jesus’s love and actions, God’s love for each individual, and the actions of people who love God. Circle Time:
Each class has a ‘circle time’ where they are invited to participate as a group. The length of these times, as well as the intensity of the activities, are dependent upon age. Activities may include interactive learning about shapes, colors, letter sounds, counting, calendar, weather, music, etc. Music and Chapel:
Our classes come together to sing and play music! During ‘Music Time’, we use instruments and sing a variety of songs. During ‘Chapel’, we use our voices and movements to sing songs to God. We also have an interactive bible story during this time. Social and Life Skills:
We aim to lead children in learning to interact appropriately with peers as well as with adults. We teach and expect them to learn basic skills of kindness, respect, taking care of their environment, and independence, according to age and ability.

Discovery Days wants to thank everyone who helped support our fundraiser, you are a blessing !!!! It is alot of work, and without all of your help and support it wouldn’t be possible!!!! This fundraiser helps with so many things in our program, and it makes it possible to continue to teach children and show them God’s works in everyday life!!!!
