Saint Bernard Catholic School

Saint Bernard Catholic School Educating children from Preschool - 8th Grade We believe that every child is unique and valuable because all life comes from God.

Educating the whole child involves helping them grow spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. The Saint Bernard Catholic School community provides a safe Christian environment in which students can become life-long learners who are prepared to cope with today’s changing world and be responsible, contributing members of a global society.

The final 60 minutes of each Friday are dedicated to Panther Power Hour, giving our middle school students the opportunity to explore enrichment activities, learn new skills, and discover new talents and interests!

One of the best parts of Panther Power Hour is seeing our teachers share their own passions, talents, and interests with our students. For the first eight weeks, our 8th graders are spending time with Mr. Morgan, learning about tools, woodworking, and more.

This past Friday, they put those skills to work and got started on building new picnic tables for our school!

We love creating opportunities for our Panthers to learn beyond the classroom from teachers who are excited to share what they love.

Stay tuned — We will share more about Ms. Hurm’s Panther Power Hour with 6th grade next Friday.

Today, we celebrated a retirement and thanked someone who has given so much of her time, talent, and treasure to our Saint Bernard Catholic School community: Mrs. Ruxer.

For nearly two decades, Mrs. Ruxer has been an important part of our school family. Throughout the years, she has touched the lives of countless students, supported her fellow teachers, and helped make Saint Bernard a better place through her love and dedication!

One of the many things that made Mrs. Ruxer such an incredible teacher was her passion for reaching every learner. She understood that every child learns differently, and she was always willing to find the right approach to help each student succeed. Whether through small-group instruction, individualized support, or finding creative ways to make learning fun and engaging, Mrs. Ruxer never stopped looking for ways to help a child grow.

Through her work with WIN (What I Need) TIME, Mrs. Ruxer helped us become more intentional about identifying what each student needed and providing the instruction and support to help them grow. Her impact can be seen not only in our students' reading progress, but also in the confidence and joy they have developed as learners.

Mrs. Ruxer, we are incredibly grateful for the many years you have shared with Saint Bernard. Thank you for your patience, your dedication, your wisdom, and most importantly, for the countless ways you have cared for and believed in our students.

As you begin this next chapter, please know that you will always be a part of the Saint Bernard family. We celebrate you, we thank you, and we wish you every happiness in your retirement.

Thank you, Mrs. Ruxer, for the immeasurable impact you’ve had on our Saint Bernard Panther family

Mrs. Kinkade’s 4th graders were hard at work adding rich details to their personal narratives!

Meanwhile, Mrs. Neumann’s 5th graders have been diving into Frindle! Students are making connections to their own lives and writing persuasive letters encouraging others to either “read” or “not read” the novel.

We love seeing our Panthers engaged in meaningful reading and writing!
