๐บ๐ธ Remembering 9/11 โข Honoring Those Who Serve ๐บ๐ธ
Yesterday, as our students learned about September 11th, Mrs. Leslieโs 3rd & 4th grade class spent time talking about the bravery, sacrifice, and selflessness shown by first respondersโnot only on that day 25 years ago, but every day since.
As part of their lesson, our students wrote letters and drew pictures to thank the first responders who serve our own community. โค๏ธ๐ค๐
Today, Mrs. Leslie delivered their work to our local Fulton Police Department and Fire Department, and the response was more than we could have hoped for. Our first responders were so touched by the studentsโ letters and drawings that they asked to come visit Aspire on Tuesday so they can thank the kids in person. ๐ฅน
There is something incredibly special about that.
For our children, September 11th is historyโan event that happened long before they were born. But the courage, service, sacrifice, and love for community that we remember on this day are not confined to history books. Those values are still lived out every single day by the men and women who put on a uniform and answer the call to serve.
We are so proud of our students for taking the time to show their gratitude, and we are incredibly thankful for the officers, firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers, and first responders who serve our community.
May we always teach the next generation to remember the lives lost, honor the heroes, recognize the helpers, and never take for granted those who run toward danger when others are running away.
We will never forget. ๐บ๐ธ
And to our Fulton first responders: thank you for serving our communityโand thank you for making our students feel like their small act of kindness mattered. We cannot wait to welcome you to Aspire on Tuesday. โค๏ธ๐ค๐
