Let's hear it for the Summer of '26!
What a fun, musical, sun-soaked, whirlwind this summer has been!

We kicked off with a joyful Jazz in June (thanks to Camden Opera House and Jazz In June Camden ME !)

We saw comraderie and musical growth at Girls Rock camp (thanks to camp leaders Kate Fiano and Khaya Cohen !)

Our Blues Intensive camp got to learn from Roger Hurricane Wilson and perform at the North Atlantic Blues Festival (thanks to , North Atlantic Blues Festival , Paul E Benjamin, Ocean AVL and instructors Tom Luther, Kate Fiano, and Mark Power MPower Voices!)

We witnessed the birth of a new band, BÄS CHARJ (p**n. Bass Charge) at Gig Camp, who learned from music industry professionals like Keri Spiliopoulos-Lupien of The Waldo Theatre and Spencer Albee, and who rocked two concerts in one week, at Rockport Harbor and the Maine Lobster Festival (thanks to camp leaders Kate Fiano, Tom Luther and Zachary Bence!)

And at our Jazz Intensive camp all campers were nominated by their school or private instructors, and were able to do a deep dive into jazz free of charge, thanks to the generosity of the Eric Davis Jazz Fund (thanks to Eric's family for carrying out his legacy, and to instructors Evan Lattimore, Tom Luther and Zack Bence!)

The fall semester begins Monday August 31 - we can’t wait to see you back in the studio.

Want to become a more confident and versatile musician? Ear training helps you recognize and understand music by listening; an essential skill for playing with others, learning songs, and improvising.

In this introductory workshop, you'll explore:
Solfege (Do, Re, Mi) to better understand pitch and melody
Audiation—the ability to hear and understand music in your mind
Music notation and the basics of reading and writing on the grand staff

Through guided singing, improvisation, and notation exercises, you'll build practical listening skills.

JAZZ! Our Jazz Intensive summer camp has taken over the studio this week! All of the campers were nominated by their school or private instructors, and are able to take part free of charge, thanks to the Eric Davis Jazz Fund. We're grateful to Eric's family for carrying out his legacy of encouraging young jazz players in the midcoast through education and performance. We think he'd be thrilled with this group!

Led by instructors Evan Lattimore, Tom Luther and Zack Bence, the goal of this intensive is to dig a little deeper than the typical middle or high school jazz band class. These young musicians are doing as much playing, listening, improvising, thinking and sharing as humanly possible, in an attempt to develop a new understanding of what "jazz" means to a young person in 2026, and how the concepts of jazz can support our musical development and expression. We couldn't be more excited about the music flowing through our halls!
