Spirit Squad Dance Team Announces Auditions
Auditions will take place in the multi on Sept. 16th, 17th, and 18th, from 3:30p-5p. If you would like to be considered, please complete this interest form! You can find a link to these announcements and this interest form on the merit page in Schoology;-)

Walking Field Trip Permission Slips Needed
If you haven’t turned in your walking field trip permission slip, grab one from the main office or your science teacher. Completed forms can be turned into the main office.

We are looking for amazing 8th grade Main Office Aides for periods 1-2 and 4. If accepted, this is a semester long assignment and would take the place of your current elective. Please see Ms. Hanson in the Main Office for an application.

Girls’ Volleyball Tryouts
August 13th: 7th Grade 3-4:30p/ 8th Grade 4:30p-6p.
August 14th: 7th Grade 3-4:30p /8th Grade 4:30p-6p.
If needed-August 17th: 8th Grade 2-3p/7th Grade 3-4p.
Attendance at tryouts is mandatory.
Meet in the main gym, dress out, and bring water

Boys’ Flag Football Tryouts
August 13th: 7th Grade 3-4:30p/ 8th Grade 4:30p-6p.
August 14th: 7th Grade 3-4:30p /8th Grade 4:30p-6p.
If needed-August 17th: 8th Grade 2-3p/7th Grade 3-4p.
Attendance at tryouts is mandatory.

No metal cleats and mouth guards are recommended, but not required for tryouts.

Attention 8th Graders= Tickets on Sale through 2nd lunch on Thursday, May 28th
Dance and Sunsplash ticket sales are before school and during lunch May 21-28. Permission slips must be completed before tickets will be sold
Sunsplash is $45 and the Dance is $10. Pay with cash, by check, or through the webstore. Visit the SV Web Store here.

Promotion Dance
Monday, June 1 | 5:30–7:00 p.m. | Multipurpose Room
This is going to be a super fun evening with dancing, food from Canes, a Dirty Soda Bar, and Raffle prizes-all included in the price of your ticket!
Cost: $10
Payable by cash, check or through our SVMS web store. One combined check for both dance and SunSplash events is acceptable.
Tickets will be sold at the Attendance Window before school and during both lunches May 21–28. Absolutely no sales at the door.
Dance Ticket and Student ID required at the door; SVMS students only. Tickets will be given out in homeroom the day of the dance.
Dress code applies (tropical/beach themed attire encouraged)

Sunsplash Field Trip
Tuesday, June 2
Cost: $45 (includes bus, admission, lunch)
Payable by cash, check or through our SVMS web store.
Tickets will be sold at the Attendance Window before school and during both lunches May 21–28 (non-refundable). Tickets WILL NOT be sold after lunch on May 28.
Sunsplash wristbands are valid on June 2, 2026 ONLY and are non-refundable. (Admission tickets for this event may not be purchased separately at Sunsplash; season passes are not valid on this date).
If not attending, students must attend school
Those attending still come to school at 8a. Wristbands will be given out in homeroom. Buses will depart at 9:15a and return to campus between 4:30-5p.

Yearbook News
Yearbooks will be distributed during homeroom on Monday, June
1st. If you would like to purchase a yearbook, we will be selling a limited amount for $50 (cash only) in the main office. Be forewarned: Should you deface another student's yearbook with profanity, vulgarity, drawn body parts, or anything else that is thoughtlessly unkind or objectionable, be assured that you'll receive a referral, merit loss, detention, and a photograph of your work emailed home to your family.

SVMS Spring Concert and Art Exhibition is May 20th!
Come one, come all, to hear this year end musical extravaganza! Our talented musicians will be playing 7-8p in the main gym! In addition, our Eagle Artists-in-Residence will be displaying their beautiful artworks from 6-6:45p.

-You need 360 merits overall for the whole school year to qualify for Sunsplash and the Promotion Dance.
-You must maintain 90 merits in the 4th quarter. Merit Retrieval Contracts are available in Student Services and are due on May 20, at the end of the day. Late forms will NOT be accepted.
-Your GPA has to be 2.0 or higher
-You can only have one NM in second semester
-Your attendance for the school year must be 85% or better

4th Quarter High Flyers Celebrated on Mon. May 11th
Each quarter, teachers and administrators get together and select students to be rewarded as quarterly High Flyers. These are students who continually follow our Eagle A.I.M. code by acting with Accountability, Integrity, and Mindfulness.

Our 4th Quarter High Flyers are: Julian Ashton, Evi Lopez, Leila Pagliai, Owen Petty, Alyssa Padilla, William Gillan, Leeah Messmore, Ysak Draculan, Vayda Davis, Brielle Ratajczak, Anaya Jones, KK Moore, Jacob Compian, Eden Owen, Lucero Gonzalez Hernandez, Fabi Wo Ching Martinez, Belle Garcia, Siddharth Sehra, Lissie Wolf-Stahl, Victoria Reyes, Jaxson Conrad, Troy Truong, Anna Dihalevych, Mariia Haiovyk, Dempsey Gottschalk, Kendra Moore, Blake Ching, Aubrey Kiel, and Lara Da Costa!

These students have worked their eagle tail feathers off in and out of the classroom, and will be celebrated during a catered DOUBLE lunch on Monday, May 11th. Way to go, Eagles!!
