Millage allows Brevard Public Schools to provide teacher salaries that remain competitive with surrounding counties and reflects our commitment to investing in fair, competitive teacher pay.

This is not a new tax. The millage is a renewal of an existing local funding source that helps support teacher salaries and school operations throughout Brevard County.

A portion of millage revenue is dedicated to supporting teacher compensation, helping fund the educators who teach and support students across our district.

Millage is one of the local funding sources that helps Brevard Public Schools invest in its workforce and continue supporting classrooms throughout the county.

Update: Shelter-in-place has been lifted! Return to normal operations.

McNair Middle School is currently under a shelter-in-place due to police activity in the area.

We will resume car loop drop off as soon as the Rockledge Police Department gives the all clear. All students are safe.

There may be additional police near campus as a precaution.

Congratulations to our August Teacher of the Month… Ms. Browne! 🥳 Ms. Browne is our seventh grade science teacher and this is her first year here at McNair. 🧪🔬 She has hit the ground running with student labs and has been doing an amazing job! We are very lucky to have her at McNair. 🚀💙 Congrats again, Ms. Browne!

It was a busy and impactful lunch period for our McNair Challengers! 🚀💙

Students took a stand for healthy choices by signing our Vape-Free Banner and joining our schoolwide anti-vaping campaign. They also exercised their civic responsibility by casting their votes for our Student Government Association officers.

A special thank you to our SGA advisors, Ms. Bravo and Ms. Michonski, for organizing and successfully running both events simultaneously. We are proud of our Challengers for making their voices heard and making positive choices for their future! 🤩

Surtax funding strengthens school safety by providing the physical security tools schools rely on every day.

This is not a new tax. The Sales Surtax is a renewal of the existing half-cent sales tax that helps fund safe, maintained, and modern school facilities.

One example is OpenGate weapons detection. Already installed at all high schools in Brevard Public Schools, OpenGate is scheduled to expand to every middle school during the 2026-27 school year through Surtax funding.
These systems create safer entrances, allow for faster threat detection, and enhance security while minimizing disruptions to the school day.

Surtax ensures Brevard Public Schools can continue investing in safety upgrades that help protect students and staff.

Drama Club kicked off its first meeting on Friday with a fantastic turnout! 🎭 Students enjoyed getting to know one another, meeting their Rockledge High School Drama Club leaders, sharing lots of laughs, and sharpening their improv skills.
