𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐭. Neither are new. Both are already in place.

Earlier we shared about the Sales Surtax.

The second measure on November's ballot is the 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞 — a property tax renewal that funds the teachers, programs, and technology that make learning happen every day in Brevard County classrooms.

Millage is the small portion of property taxes that stays right here in Brevard County, locally approved by voters to directly support Brevard Public Schools. Every dollar collected goes to the people and programs inside our schools.

Millage funds three things: 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐲, 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲.

Williams is so happy to introduce our new School Nurse!

Hi everyone, my name is Cailyn Reed. I am so excited to be joining the school as the registered nurse. I'm originally from Brevard County, but spent six years living in Virginia while attending college. I am married and am a proud owner of a Springer-Doodle puppy named Bunker. Outside of school, I love spending time at the beach, visiting local coffee shops, and hanging out with family. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of our students, families, and staff, and I'm grateful to be a part such a wonderful school community.

ATTENTION 4TH-6TH GRADE PARENTS

The Williams Elementary STEAM Lab would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing parents and families for your continued support of our annual chocolate fundraiser.

Over the past two years, your generosity has helped raise funds that have transformed learning opportunities in our STEAM Lab. Thanks to your support, we were able to purchase eight Sphero RVR robots, which have provided students with exciting, hands-on experiences in coding, engineering, and problem-solving.

During the 2025-2026 school year, students in grades 4-6 used the Sphero RVRs in a variety of engaging lessons, including activities that connected coding to the Scientific Method and the Rock Cycle. These experiences allowed students to apply critical thinking, creativity, and computational skills in meaningful ways.

This year, we are excited to expand these opportunities even further! Through a grant written by Mr. Englert and with the support of the Brevard Public Schools Instructional Technology Department, Williams Elementary was awarded resources to work alongside the RVR robots from Brevard Educational Technology Brevard Public Schools (official) to purchase eight Blueprint Snap Kits. On Monday, August 24, 2026, these new Blueprint Snap kids arrived and are now ready to be in the hands of the students at Williams Elementary!

These innovative kits will allow students to take their learning to the next level by designing and building engineering solutions that interact with the Sphero RVR robots they code. Students will be challenged to combine coding, engineering design, collaboration, and problem-solving to create real-world solutions and exciting new inventions.

The continued support of our families, community partners, and school district makes experiences like these possible. Because of you, our students have access to cutting-edge technology and engaging STEAM opportunities that inspire creativity, innovation, and a lifelong love of learning.
