Skoniminol Kuliwot or “Good Seed” is an Indigenous seed saving initiative that began on the banks of the Presumpscot river. It is clear that the integrity and safety of our seed is at risk, and so Mihku decided to begin growing out Indigenous seed from New England and beyond, to protect OP/OG seed strains and distribute them to the community. Surplus crops will be shared with the community. This site will become an outdoor classroom for people to learn more about these crops. Three Sisters crops are ancient for good reason. They are mutually beneficial to one another in growth, provide excellent nutrition, and can be stored and remain stable without electricity. Next steps will be to gather and learn delicious recipes for the table.
