Visit us at this week at the Boone County Fair (in the Farm Bureau Building) or next week at the Winnebago County Fair (in Moss Hall).
Donate now to help support Ag Education for youth in Boone and Winnebago Counties. Agriculture in the Classroom had 63,000+ student interactions in the 2025-2026 school year and over $282,000 have been given in scholarships since 1990.
How to Participate:
1. Visit our booth at the fair.
2. Select a barnyard friend, tractor, or the farm (or combination thereof) and donate.
3. Write your name on the animal, etc.
4. Place it on our farm scene banner to help grow our herd!

Come on down to the Boone County Fair next week! Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau has a building on the fairgrounds. The theme is year is pizza! Come in to see the new the stuff from Discovery Center Museum! Meat puzzles and the Test Ag IQ along with the corn pit and of course, chicks and bees!

Today we visited Lockwood Park - Rockford Park District. The theme was sheep and Allie Peterson, Summer Intern, read the book, Woolbur, by Leslie Helakoski. The pony campers learned about the wool process, what sheep eat, and then played sheep bingo! The craft was a sheep made out of cotton balls.

Last week we visited Durand Summer Reading program. Ali Asche talked about worms and the importance to farming! She explained about the life cycle of worms and composting. The participants made worm farms!

Last week Ag in the Classroom made presentations at Lockwood Park - Rockford Park District about chickens. Pony campers learned about life cycle of chickens. Horse campers learned about the anatomy an of egg. A fun time was had by all!

Erikka Coletta, Harlem District, was recognized last week as the Illinois Ag in the Classroom Teacher of the Year at the National Ag in the Classroom Conference. She is amazing librarian and a cheerleader for agriculture!
