Roosevelt Student Tarik! Tarik is not only planning on opening his own shop some day but wants to ensure his shop will be an uplifting asset to the community. Thanks for the support not only for Tarik but RPS students and Roosevelt Tom McNamara for Mayor If you are looking for a cut. . . you know where to go.

About two weeks ago I spoke at RPS 205 Roosevelt Rockford Public Schools 205, a young man told me he is going to own a business in City of Rockford Government one day. I said you let me know and I want to support you.

So in true entrepreneur fashion he said it’s going to be a barbershop and I would love to cut your hair.

Last night, I met Tarik at Siganture Fades owned by a great guy and even better mentor (Carlos) and I got myself a great cut!

Thanks Tarik and Carlos!

We spent the “Morning with the Mayor.” Thank you Mayor Thomas McNamara for joining us and helping kickoff our voter registration drive, promoting civic engagement, and providing us updates on the many things that make Rockford a great place to live, work, play, and raise a family. The students were engaged, had great questions, and demonstrated a keen awareness of the community’s assets and needs. Special thanks to Mayor McNamara and everyone who helped kickoff the voter registration drive and who helped students envision themselves in Rockford’s future.
