The Parkway Business Club recently welcomed Mercer County Sheriff Doug Timmerman as our October guest speaker!

Sheriff Timmerman spoke with students about the variety of career opportunities available at the Mercer County Jail and within the criminal justice field. He also shared valuable advice on preparing for job interviews, making a positive impression, and developing the skills needed to be successful in the workplace.

Our Business Club meets monthly to hear from professionals in different career fields, giving students the opportunity to explore career paths and learn from individuals in our community.

Parkway Local Schools is excited to welcome Dr. Cody Klinker as our new team physician!

Dr. Klinker is part of the primary care team at OhioHealth Physician Group, serving patients in Rockford and Van Wert, and is affiliated with OhioHealth Van Wert Hospital. He is a board-certified family medicine physician with additional advanced osteopathic certification.

His clinical interests include non-surgical sports medicine, pediatrics, preventative care, rural medicine, and office-based procedures. He also serves as the team physician for Crestview Local Schools and previously worked with Thomas Worthington High School in central Ohio from 2023-2025.

Dr. Klinker is a 2013 Crestview High School graduate and is looking forward to serving the Parkway community in this new role. His passion for family medicine and caring for patients of all ages makes him a great addition to our school community!

Earlier this week, Ms. French’s Work Study, Job & Life Readiness students restocked supplies for the S.M.I.L.E. Club!

From taking inventory and creating supply lists to budgeting, grocery shopping, checking out, and putting everything away, students are gaining valuable hands-on experience with real-life skills.

We love seeing our students build independence, practice responsibility, and prepare for life beyond the classroom!

S.M.I.L.E. is a student-run program that builds confidence, teamwork, and real-world job and business skills. From preparing food and baking treats to creating crafts, these students work hard every day to serve staff and students while putting their skills into action!
