Our Story
The many programs we offer include:
1. Community Education Preschool
This program helps children develop the ability to work and play together in an enjoyable group setting that utilizes a developmentally appropriate kindergarten readiness curriculum. Students are exposed to and practice social and cognitive skills with a focus on environmental topics.
Our Community Education preschool has earned a 4-Star rating through Great Start to Quality, a governing organization that has established high program standards of quality for early childhood programs in Michigan.
Sessions for three year olds are offered on T/TH 8:15-10:15 am or 10:30-12:30 pm for $675.00. Sessions for four year olds are offered M-TH 8:45-11:15 am or 11:45-2:15 pm for $1,600.00. Children must be 3 or 4 by September 1 of the current school year. Registration can be done at www.rpssignmeup.com
2. Child Development Lab Preschool
Children have many opportunities to learn independence, make decisions, develop creativity and practice social and kindergarten readiness skills in an environment of caring, qualified instructors and students. Curiosity and a love of learning are developed through experiences with nature, art and family focused activities.
This program is located at Rockford High School and utilizes high school students enrolled in child development and life skills classes in this program. We offer two-day per week sessions for $1,000.00 and a three-day per week sessions for 3 and 4 year olds from 9:00-11:30 am or 12:30 - 3:00 pm for $1,500.00 Children must be 3 or 4 by September 1 of the current school year. 3. Montessori
This program introduces children to practical living skills, sensory education, language, math, science, cultural activities, art, music and movement. Hands-on activities are designed to help children develop a sense of order, concentration, coordination and independence in this child-centered environment. A mix of ages is a key premise of the philosophy.
The Montessori program has earned a 4-Star rating through Great Start to Quality, a governing organization that has established high program standards of quality for early childhood programs in Michigan.
The program meets five morning session 8:30-11:30 am or afternoon session, 12:00-3:00 pm per week, for $3,700.00 per session. Children must be 3 or 4 by September 1 of the current school year. Registration can be done at www.rpssignmeup.com.
4. Preschool Enrichment Child Care - Full Day Preschool
Our all day preschool, 7:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m., has been awarded a 4-star rating from the State of Michigan’s Great Start to Quality rating and improvement system for preschool and child care programs. This is one of the highest ratings in the Rockford area! Parents can be assured that their child will be exposed to varied learning experiences, including a planned preschool program, meals, and both gym and outdoor play.
We are proud of our well trained staff and the relationships that have built with Rockford families. PECC serves children ages 3-4, and is open for year 'round care. The cost is $42.00 per day/child with a minimum set schedule of 2-days/week is required. This program can also be used in conjunction with our Montessori and/or Spanish preschool programs at a slightly reduced rate. Enrollment information is available at 616.863.6560
5. Spanish Preschool - This blended program is for three and four year olds utilizing materials to introduce preschoolers to the Spanish language. The program is offered at the Administration Building on Mon./Wed./Fri. from 9:15-11:45 am for the morning session or 12:30 - 3:00 pm for the afternoon session, for $1,800.00 per session. 6. Before and After School Care (BAC)
Our BAC programs are offered at each elementary school for school aged (DK-5th. grade) kids that will provide parents with the security of knowing their children are in a safe, fun and nurturing environment before and after school hours. BAC is offered every day that school is in session, scheduled half days, as well as some school vacation days. Table games, crafts, gym time, outdoor play and an afternoon snack are planned each day. 7. Summer School Age Program
This is a great way to spend his or her time off during the summer months! School age children enjoy a full day of sports, games, crafts, field trips and special activities. An enthusiastic and creative staff have made this outstanding program an option for students who have completed DK through entering 6th grade. A full summer commitment, with a set 2-day/week minimum is necessary for the scheduling and planning needed to run this program.
