THANK YOU! I want to say thank you to all of the people who have touched my life the last 13 years I have been at Rockford College, now University. I have experienced things I never even knew about, much less thought I would be a part of, and have gained a knowledge of people and different cultures that you cannot get from a book (although school is very important). I have worked with amazing people that are now part of my family.
Next Thursday, Sept. 13, is my last day at RU. Looking back at the last 13 years, I realize how blessed I have been to get to know you. I used to get teased for saying this: Bless your hearts!!
Make the best of the life you are given, it goes by fast. Michele :-)

Please see message from Dr. Fulcomer:
Good afternoon,
Significant storms impacted the Rockford area during the evening of June 28, including a tornado warning issued for Winnebago County. All students, employees and campus guests took necessary shelter and we are thankful that everyone remained safe. We did, however, experience significant flooding in the 5100 building.
With daylight comes a better understanding of the damage sustained. There were failures in the roof structure that caused flooding throughout the entire building. Because of the extent of the water and roof damage, the building must be completely closed and evacuated. That has taken place and security officers are on site to help ensure everyone’s safety.
Offices, classes and meetings will be relocated to accommodate what is needed. We also understand that equipment, files and personal items are affected by this situation. A response team has been assembled and is working through all areas that need to be addressed so that the University can resume normal operations as soon as possible.
Please be aware of the following points:
• Daytime classes that are normally scheduled in 5100 are cancelled for today, June 29.
• Evening classes for June 29 will be relocated. Instructors and students affected by this will be communicated with directly for more information on location.
• The building is closed and entry at this time is prohibited.
• As soon as the space can be secured and fully assessed, those with offices in the building will be contacted and allowed to retrieve items.
Many of our colleagues and basic functions will be affected in the weeks to come. I appreciate your support and understanding as we continue to work through this situation and prepare for a successful start of classes in August, which I’m confident we will accomplish.
We will communicate new information as it becomes available. Please watch for announcements on my.rockford.edu and email correspondences.
