It was a tall order for the Booster Club Scholarship Committee to chose a recipient from a pool of really exceptional candidates, but one applicant truly stood out as a young woman of outstanding character, leadership, and excellence, both on and off the athletic fields and courts.

Her athletic accomplishments include being an instrumental member of the varsity tennis team for two years and the varsity soccer team for four years. Within both teams, she further distinguished herself as a leader, as she was voted:
- MVP of the 2025 tennis team
- Captain for both her junior and senior soccer seasons
- Most Inspirational Player for her junior year soccer season as voted on by her teammates
- Recipient of the Lions Pride Award for not one but two seasons, which is awarded to the varsity soccer player who best represents the values of Rockford Christian.
- Recognized by the Big Northern Conference for excellence in sportsmanship in 2025

Outside of athletics, she has dedicated much time to both leadership and service at RC with student council, the Student Leadership Team, and through various service organizations. Outside of school she is on the student advisory board at the Pregnancy Care Center of Rockford and many volunteer positions at Redeemer Church.

The letters of recommendation that were submitted as a part of her scholarship application were two of the most sincere and specific we’ve seen. Both letters highlighted this young woman’s love of JESUS, her heart for service, her humility, and her dedication to excellence in everything she does.

This student-athlete has certainly made the most of her time here at Rockford Christian and will no doubt do the same next year at Marquette University. Please join us in congratulating this year’s recipient of the athletic booster scholarship award, Ms. Emily Meyers!
