🌸 This Mother's Day, Playtown preschoolers shared why their moms are so special, and the common theme was unmistakable: it's all about time spent together, not the things bought. From playing Barbies, cooking together, to simply being there—every child expressed love through the cherished moments shared with their mom.

Here's to all the amazing mothers who make every day special by just being there! Happy Mother's Day! 💖👩‍👧‍👦

Playtown is wrapping up the school year. There has been so much learning in the classroom! Each week, there is a “letter of the week.” The week starts by listing words that start with that letter and continues with reading books and doing art projects that also start with that letter. The kids then practice writing the letter in lower and upper case. Finally, the week ends with show and tell—each kid brings in an item in a bag that starts with the letter and the others try to guess what might be inside the bag!

The kids particularly enjoyed Letter U Week. The kids played under the tables and even colored under them, too!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! We had a science experiment with green paint that bubbled, set traps for the leprechaun, we didn’t catch him, but he decorated our room! We enjoyed shamrock shakes, and went looking for gold!

February is full of love at Playtown! We've painted the word “love”, talked about love, and made love themed art projects. On Valentine’s Day, we had a big party with the help of our amazing parents! Learn more on our website 🩷

For Gg week we had a family night! We made Grateful Centerpieces!

Late post!

We had a BLAST at Playtown Preschool Center's Halloween party! 🎃 We did some trick or treating, made Halloween crafts, played Halloween games and of course had a ton of yummy treats! Both our candy buckets and our hearts were full by the end of the morning! Thank you to all of our caregivers and church members for making our party so successful!

Playtown Preschool has adopted a dairy cow through the Discover Dairy program! Her name is Rosie and she lives on a dairy farm in East Dubuque, Illinois. We are having so much fun learning about her and we can not wait for our monthly updates to watch her grow!

This week was all about names, names, names at Playtown Preschool Center! We practiced name recognition and writing our names many different ways. We had so much fun our preschoolers might not have even realized they were also learning!

We are officially back to school! We had a great couple of first days back here at Playtown! Lots of new friendships and memories made already and we have just begun!

Yesterday during Chapel, we turned to Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God." To absorb the lesson, we had the kids play "Who can be still the longest". This might just be the teachers' new favorite game!

Did you know that there's a lot of research behind smiling? Smiles are mood boosters, help us relax, and can make us more productive. At Playtown Preschool Center, there are lots of smiling faces and new friendships being formed. So, here are some recent photos of some of the smiling faces we see each day 😊 Make sure to share a smile with someone today!

Recently, Playtown received the Quality Improvements Grant from the State of Illinois. With the funds, new science area toys, learning games, gross motor equipment, a pretend grocery store, and new chairs have all been purchased. We're so thankful for this grant and the new items for our classroom. We even had fun with all the boxes!
