What a great event at the Y on Wednesday! Casey Bachochin from Remedies Renewing Lives, and Jen Macek, RPS205 Director of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, spoke to us about trauma and how it can affect the brain and behavior. Jen detailed RPS205's plans to become a Trauma Sensitive district by 2020 and explained how the district planned to achieve this through social-emotional curriculum/instruction and mindfulness practices. The district has many community partners helping them all the way and staff training has already begun! A list of resources is included with this post.
