The 7-7-7 rule for parenting is a daily connection habit where parents spend three focused, screen-free blocks of seven minutes with their child each day. Totaling 21 minutes daily, this intentional time helps children feel secure, seen, and loved during key transitional moments.

The Three Daily Time Blocks
First 7 minutes (Morning): Start the day with calm connection, like chatting over breakfast, sharing positive affirmations, or a gentle wake-up routine.

Second 7 minutes (After School/Work): Reconnect right after everyone returns home. Listen without distraction or immediate chores to how your child feels.

Third 7 minutes (Bedtime): Wind down before sleep through cuddling, reading, or talking about the highs and lows of the day.

Monday Reading Tip

Help kids learn to read using simple, fun phonics tricks.
Focus on letter sounds instead of the alphabet song, practice blending two or three sounds with games, and read together every day.

Sound and Phonics Tricks
Skip letter names: Teach sounds first (like /s/ not "ess") using lowercase flashcards.
Use Post-it blending: Write letters on sticky notes. Say sounds slowly like /p-a-t/, then speed up to say "pat".
Tap out sounds: Have your child tap their arm or fingers for each sound in a word like f-l-i-p.
Change one letter: Turn the word "sat" into "sit" by swapping the middle letter.
