My name is Michael McCrae, and I am a High School English Teacher in N.J., having just wrapped up my 11th year as an educator. Some additional background: After graduating from William Paterson University in 2007 with a BA in Communication, I worked at a public relations firm in NYC for three years, writing and editing press releases. However, the call to teaching pulled me away from this career,
and I entered a Post-Baccalaureate program in English Education K-12 from Kean University, graduating in 2011. Since beginning my career, I have taught numerous grade levels, from 7th grade to every grade in high school (9-12), although, for the last 6 years, I have consistently taught 11th grade. I have taught AP Language and Composition, English Honors, and English College Prep. I have also tutored students in reading and writing skills over the years through my school district and have now branched out to do the same for students independently via this tutoring service. Services:
General English Tutoring - $60/hour
For 6-12th graders who need help with reading comprehension and/or writing skills. AP Language and Composition - $60/hour
For students preparing for the exam and/or taking the course in their school and need some assistance. I have taught this course for 6 years in my own district and my students have received high-level scores; I can do the same for you with one-on-one instruction. SAT - $70/hour
For students preparing for the SAT exam. Availability/hours:
I am currently teaching ELA in a summer program until 8/3, so my availability is as follows:
Monday through Thursday - anytime from 1pm to 8pm
Friday - from 9am until 8pm
Saturday - from 9am until 3pm
After 8/3, my availability is as follows:
Monday through Friday - from 9am until 8pm
Saturday - from 9am until 3pm
During the school year, my availability:
Monday through Friday - from 4pm until 8pm
Saturday - from 9am until 3pm
