School has started! Finally, after being closed for more than 20 years, the Alice M Daley Adventist School in Rock Spring, Georgia, is open again. Monday was the first day of school. Thank you to all who have prayed and given time and money so this day could be a reality.

Today was Teacher Dedication Sabbath at our Rock Spring, GA church. Our new teacher, Jodi Scarbrough, shared a powerful sermon on God's calling in our lives. She let the adults listen, but she was really speaking to the kids and young people. Well, actually, she said she was giving them a Bible class in school. Watch it. You will be blessed.

Change in School Dates
The first day of classes will be August 19.
Several students and staff had pre-existing conflicts. This makes it so almost all can start school at the same time.

Reduced Fees
Application Fee - cancelled for this year.
Registration Fee - cut in half for this year ($200 instead of $400). Our parent organization, the Georgia-Cumberland Conference, is giving us most of the textbooks we need for this year instead of us having to buy them. So we decided to pass on that blessing to the student families.

It was good to see some of you at the Alice M Daley Adventist School open house yesterday. We understand it was short notice and not everyone could come.

This Sunday, July 21, we will be having the school registration from 2:00-5:00.
You can look at and/or download the application forms, registration packet, a draft handbook, and the calendar at our website (AMDAdventistSchool.com).

Welcome our new teacher - Jodi Scarbrough!

Jodi loves God, her husband and three children, and working with students of all ages. She grew up in the mission field, studied elementary education at Weimar College, and graduated with a degree in religion.

Jodi and her husband, Brian, spent four years in Papua New Guinea where Brian was a mission pilot and Jodi taught high school science. Then they moved from one of the hottest places on earth to one of the coldest - Alaska! For the next nine years, Jodi worked as a kindergarten/preschool teacher, homeschool mom, substitute teacher, and Bible and history teacher for 7th and 8th grade.

After settling in Oregon, Jodi served as school board chair for the local Church school, as well as sitting on Gem State Academy's board of education and the North Pacific Union Conference board of education. Jodi's children are now in high school and university and for the last few years, she has been teaching in a multi-grade classroom in Alabama.

We are thrilled to have Jodi joining us in the Alice M Daley Adventist School in Rock Spring, Georgia. She brings a wealth of life experience as well as years of teaching experience in many different settings. Through it all, two things have kept her going day after day - even the difficult ones. They are her love for God and her passion for helping each student grow in their love for Jesus and their ability to use the unique talents and abilities He has given them.

Join us in welcoming Jodi and her family to our community. And please keep her and the children who will be coming to our school in your prayers.
