Rock Island Center for Math and Science Rock Island Center for Math and Science (RICMS) is a public, choice, STEAM focused elementary school.

The Center for Math and Science (RICMS) is a public school of choice, with families, teachers, and other staff members choosing to be part of the school because we like what happens here. It draws its students from across Rock Island-Milan District #41. Committed to cultural diversity, our student population is representative of the district population at large.

As many people have heard, it is with immense sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Mia, one of our beloved 5th grade Tornadoes. 💛

Arrangements have not been set yet, but we share her beautiful tribute below. Her family said it best, she leaves behind a world made brighter by her beautiful spirit.

Our school family is extremely grateful for the grants provided by the Gary and Helen Miner Foundation! The fabulous Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Hansen, and Ms. Kennelly got grants totalling over $8,800! The grants are helping to fund trips to the Putnam Museum and Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse. ❤️💛🌪️
