On May 2, the Augustana College Department of Music will celebrate 30 years of excellence in choral singing and the retirement of Jon and Sonja Hurty. The celebration will feature a concert with the Augustana Choir, Augustana Choral Artists and a special choir made up of current students and alumni who sang under the direction of Jon Hurty.

The concert starts at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa.

The Augustana College Department of Music would like to welcome Iris Xiaoyu Liu, instructor of low brass!

Liu is a bass trombonist and will teach brass methods, applied low brass and instruct the Low Brass Choir.

Liu will conduct the Low Brass Choir Ensemble concert on April 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Wallenberg Hall.

The Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble is going on tour!

Dr. Jon Hurty will retire after 30 years at Augustana College as the director of choral activities. He will conduct "Messiah" on February 22 as his final oratorio performance at Augustana College.
