10 Reasons to go to the Graduate School Fair
1- Explore your options: There isn't one "right" path. Even if you aren't thinking about going, the Fair can help you picture yourself where you want to be and different ways to get there.
2- Build your confidence: It takes a lot of confidence and bravery to apply to a Graduate Program. The fair is a great way to take the first step.
3- Network: Even if not applying soon, having relationships with the school and their representatives can go a long way (send them a LinkedIn request after)!
4- Meet your advocates: Ask schools how they support students with different needs. Having advocates and mentors can be key in succeeding in grad school.
5- Learn about funding: Discover scholarships, assistantships, grants, and other ways to help pay for grad school or have grad school PAID for.
6- Understand the application process: Every program has different application requirements and due dates.
7- Freebies: Often schools or organizations will have candy or other goodies available. Practice your elevator pitch with them in exchange for a freebie.
8- Find community: Look for programs that share and develop your passions.
9- Ask the "silly" questions: The fair is a low-pressure first contact with grad school. Ask the question, even if you're afraid. The grad school representatives are there to answer your questions. Plus, there are no silly questions.
10- Gather information for next year: Fairs like these can often be intimidating. However, going in a group can reduce the pressure. Come with us, scope it out, and plan your attack for the next fair!

The Understanding Your Tuition Bill workshop can help!

Learn directly from a Financial Aid Counselor on how to interpret your bill. The opportunity to ask questions for the financial aid office and get real answers.

This workshop counts as a Financial Literacy Workshop (This is a REQUIREMENT to be eligible for the TRiO Grant Aid Scholarship)

Even these pictures make me want to take a deep breath.

Did you know we have a calm corner in the TRiO office (Olin 308)? EVERYONE is welcome to take a midday break in the calm corner with us. We have different lighting, weighted stuffed animals and blankets, comfy seating and customizable lighting.
