During Five Senses Week, our little learners turned colorful jars into a fun musical sensory experience! 🎵🥁
As they tapped and played along, they used their sense of hearing to listen to different sounds, their sense of sight to explore the bright colors, and their sense of touch as they created their own music.

👀👂👃👅✋ Learning Through Our Five Senses! ✨

This week, our little learners are exploring the amazing world around them through their five senses-sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch! 🌈

Through hands-on activities, sensory play, experiments, and discovery, our children are learning how each sense helps them understand and interact with their environment. 🧠💡 These experiences encourage language development, observation skills, critical thinking, fine motor development, and curiosity, all while having FUN! 💛

Our little explorers are having a wildly fun time during Safari Week! 🐯🌴 Through fun, hands-on activities, our children are learning through play while strengthening their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, problem-solving skills, and more! ✋🧠✨

From exploring safari animals to engaging in sensory and fine motor activities, every adventure gives our little learners an opportunity to discover, create, and grow! 🐘🦓🦒

🐾🚔 LIFE OF A K-9 HANDLER! 🚔🐾

For the month of August our community helper is a police officer and our little learners had an extra special hands-on experience! 💙

We welcomed Sergeant Travis and his K-9 partner to Carolina Academy to teach our children what life is like as a K-9 handler. 🐕‍🦺👮‍♂️ Our children had the opportunity to meet a real police K-9 up close, learn about the important jobs K-9 teams perform, and discover how officers and their canine partners work together to help keep our community safe. 🚓🐾

A HUGE thank you to Sergeant Travis for taking the time to visit us and share such an important part of his role as a K-9 handler. 💙🐕‍🦺 We are so grateful for our community helpers and for experiences our children will be talking about for a long time!

Our little explorers stepped into the wild during Safari Week! 🌍🐾 From pretending to be safari guides and searching for animals with their binoculars 🔎🦓 to exploring hands-on sensory activities, learning was an adventure!

Safari dramatic play encourages imagination, communication, vocabulary development, and social skills, while sensory play helps strengthen fine-motor skills, problem-solving, creativity, and exploration. 🐯🦒✨

Manners Week is in full swing! 💛

Our little learners are discovering that being a good friend starts with kind words, helping hands, taking turns, sharing, and showing respect for others. 🫶🏼😊 Through stories, conversations, and hands-on activities, we’re practicing those important social-emotional skills that help build kind and confident classmates. 🌟

And the learning doesn’t stop there! ✏️📚 Our children are also strengthening their pre-writing skills, letter recognition, and self-awareness as they learn more about themselves and the world around them.

🌟📚 This school year is off to a GREAT start! 📚🌟

Our little learners are busy building the skills that set the foundation for a successful year! From making new friends and practicing matching skills 🧩 to strengthening fine and gross motor skills ✏️and learning to walk in a straight line 👣, we’re getting back to the basics while having lots of fun along the way!

Every activity is an opportunity to learn, grow, build confidence, and practice important classroom routines. 💛🍎 We can’t wait to see all that our little learners accomplish this year!
