🌿 Rooted in His love.

“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power…to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” — Ephesians 3:17–18, NIV

What a beautiful reminder for this Sunday. When we are , we are rooted in a love that doesn’t change with our circumstances.

Our prayer for our students—and for our entire WCCS community—is that we would know the love of Christ more deeply and let that love shape the way we learn, lead, serve, and care for one another.

May we go into this week secure in His love and growing deeper in our faith.

Week 2 of Upper School Chapel is going strong! 🙌

In High School Chapel, College & Career Counselor, Ashley Sapp challenged our students to consider a meaningful question: “Who are we beholding?” She reminded us that because we are unworthy, we must behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. John 1:29 & 36

In Middle School Chapel, North Rock Hill youth pastor Travis Lee reminded students that it isn’t our job to convince everyone to follow Jesus. Our role is to point others toward Him and invite them to “come and see.”

We’re grateful for these opportunities to pause during the school week, hear God’s Word, and encourage our students to grow in their faith. 💙

✨ Next up in our faculty and staff introductions, we’re excited to introduce Allie Swain, a new member of our Early Childhood team!

Allie serves as a Teacher Assistant in our one-year-old classroom, where she gets to spend her days caring for, encouraging, and loving some of our littlest students. Her love for working with children started long before coming to WCCS, and she believes God has given her a special calling to invest in them during these important early years.

Allie hopes to create a classroom where children feel safe, comfortable, and excited to come each day. She also knows that even at this young age, children are watching and learning from the people around them, which is why she wants to model the fruit of the Spirit through the way she loves and cares for each child.

When asked about her biggest desire for the children in her classroom, Allie shared:

“I hope they are safe, comfortable, and happy to be in our learning environment as well as excited for what we will do every day! If that’s not the case, then I will try my best to make sure every child is heard and seen.”

We’re so thankful God has brought Allie to WCCS and for the love and care she pours into our youngest students each day!

✨ Next up in our faculty and staff introductions, we’re excited to welcome another new member of our WCCS community!

Please join us in welcoming Grace Benes, our new High School Spanish teacher!
Grace’s passion for teaching began at a young age, but her love for teaching Spanish grew after spending an extended period of time in South America during college. A dual citizen of Argentina who once competed for the Argentine National Swim Team, Grace brings a unique background and perspective to the classroom as she helps students grow in their knowledge and understanding of another language and culture.

For Grace, teaching is also an opportunity to invest in students spiritually. She desires to build meaningful relationships with her students and prepare them not only academically, but also to serve God and become disciple makers. When asked about her greatest desire for each student who walks into her classroom, Grace shared:

“My desire is that students would see themselves as God’s unique creations, deeply loved and created with purpose.”

🧪 : Science in Action!

Mrs. Johnston’s 7th grade students put their science skills to work during their Bubble Gum Mass Lab! While bubble gum made the experiment a little sweeter, the real focus was learning an important part of scientific study: how to maintain a scientific lab book and write a clear, thorough lab report.

A fun lab with plenty of hands-on opportunities to measure, record, and learn along the way!

🌿 Rooted in Christ. Remaining in Him. Bearing fruit.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit…” — John 15:5, NIV

Jesus reminds us that lasting growth begins by staying connected to Him. As we abide in Christ, He strengthens our faith, shapes our character, and produces fruit in our lives.

Our prayer for our WCCS community is that we would remain close to Jesus—in every season, every challenge, and every opportunity to grow.

✨ Next up in our faculty and staff introductions, we’re excited to introduce another incredible member of our WCCS community!

💙 Please join us in getting to know Lindsey Burton, our Administrative Support Specialist!

Lindsey’s connection to WCCS goes back to her own 3K days! After returning to our community through ESC and later serving as a substitute teacher at our Lower School, Lindsey felt God leading her toward a role outside the classroom. What followed wasn’t quite the position she expected—instead, several responsibilities came together to create a unique role serving both our Upper and Lower School teams. Looking back, Lindsey sees God’s hand at work in bringing her exactly where she is today.

Whether she’s supporting our Development Office, assisting with training and certification, or encouraging students along the way, Lindsey desires to be an example of Christ to those around her. When asked about her greatest desire for the students and staff she serves, she shared:

“My biggest desire is to make sure they feel heard, supported, and respected.”

We're so thankful for Lindsey and the many ways she serves our WCCS community. Her willingness to step in wherever she’s needed, her heart for others, and her commitment to helping students feel valued make her a blessing to our students, families, faculty, and staff.

The votes are in! 🗳️💙

Our Elementary students headed to the polls today to cast their votes for this year’s student council positions! From courageous candidates willing to step up and serve to classmates thoughtfully casting their ballots, it was a great day of learning about leadership, responsibility, and community.

We’re proud of every student who put themselves forward and grateful for opportunities like these that help our students grow in confidence, character, and service to others.

Stay tuned—we can’t wait to introduce this year’s student council leaders! 🎉
