Next month I am really retiring and moving to Westminster Towers with Kandi. We ae looking forward to many happy adventures there including time for me in the pool!

Success is not reserved only for the young. There are many advantages to following your dreams or setting goals later in life such as wisdom, resilience, confidence, and patience.

Hello to everyone. My granddaughter, Liz, created this portrait of a very special time in my musical life. I was a junior in high school and an active member of the band. For the spring concert I played the first movement of the Grieg Piano Concerto. It was a glorious time, the culmination of many months of early morning practice before school, The secret to playing the piano well is regular lessons and regular practice times over a long period of time. My life has come full circle. Once again I am focusing on the piano, this time as the teacher. I am teaching piano students again on a regular basis with the wearing of masks and before lesson sanitization of the keys. Contact me if you are interested in lessons.

Spring greetings to my student and families, Greene Studio alums, and friends. I now spend my teaching hours, church hours, and master gardener hours working in my garden tackling weeds. I love working in my roses. It helps me to stay focused and peaceful in this challenging time. Nothing puts the worries of the world in perspective better than digging in the dirt and filling the yard cart with buckets of weeds!

Now that the schools are closing I will be suspending lessons and will rethink the situation at the end of the month. I hope that all students will use some regular times on You Tube seeking out music that they are playing or singing. Also soak up music by the masters: Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Mozart, and others. This is a great opportunity to expand your musical understanding by listening to great music. This will engage your mind and sharpen your musical ear.

May St. Francis inspire us to be instruments of peace, love, and understanding as we comfort and pray for those in distress.

Thanks to my students and to good friend Madeline Mangas for a great recital on Sunday. Madeline visited all the preparatory lessons and then sang a mini recital for us after everyone had sung and played. By special request and in honor of the warm afternoon she sang "Summertime" twice!!

Kandi has a new bed under my desk. Then she can stay close to me when I work at the computer. She is eager for our students to come back from vacation. She loves my students!
